I am working toward a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at California State University. For the past four years, I have also taught Mathematics at East Los Angeles College, both in one-on-one sessions and as leader of occasional study groups. In my experience, individual sessions are more effective, since they can focus in on the individual student's areas of concern. In addition, I have found that different students have different approaches to learning, and so what is most effective for one student may not be helpful for another. I tutor students in a range of mathematical subjects, from Elementary Math through Calculus and Statistics, but I find Trigonometry to be the most enjoyable, because the problems presented force a student to think creatively rather than simply performing calculations or applying a formula by rote. When I'm not working toward my own degree or assisting students, I enjoy Alternative Rock and Electric Dance Music. I also like to play various sports, hike, play video games, and play with my cat.
