Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus - BS, Elementary Education , University of Virginia-Main Campus - M.Ed, Special Education
I am a kindergarten through sixth grade teacher of reading, writing, math, and preparation for standardized tests. While this is where my expertise lies, I have tutored geometry and algebra, English (including AP), and history to students up to the twelfth grade level. I tutor public speaking as well, helping students with their composition and delivery. From reading, writing, and poetry to math (elementary and middle school), science, social studies, geography, and political science, I can help in a wide range of academic subjects. When teaching, I don't bore my students by making them memorize facts. I include games, technology, and a variety of creative activities to help them truly understand what they are learning. At the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am currently finishing my master's degree in Special Education as a graduate student at the University of Virginia. My student teaching requirements were fulfilled in Pittsburgh while I am licensed to teach in the state of Virginia. I've been working there for several years now.My home is in Alexandria, Virginia, while when I do have time off from my studies and tutoring, I spend it reading or playing or watching baseball.
